Having a correctly set reorder point has shown to have the following benefits:
Reduced # of back orders
Lower Postage and Handling costs.
Improved fill rate.
By using item weeks sales data this program runs quickly without using huge amounts of resources. Below is a sample run. In the example below we're only looking at R1 items and we're analyzing ssales from last year at this time. We told the program we're expecting 10% growth and of the final sales # we'll take 20% of that to be our reorder point.
